Ladies’ shifts and men’s shifts of the period had a pair of buttonholes in each sleeve, held together with this style of “links”.

This is a set of sleeve buttons aka “sleeve links” made from faux black onyx (or simply called ‘paste’, which is what they commonly were in the period), each measuring 5/8 inch across on the face.

These come in a set of two connected pairs, exactly what you need for one shift or shirt.
