(SOLD) Reproduction 18th Century Ladies Petticoat in Brown & Natural Linen “Ticken”

£125.00
sold out

100% handsewn using historically documented construction.

Made from mid-weight linen “ticken” (please note, this is a historical fabric different from ticking), sourced from historical fabric merchants Burnley & Trowbridge in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA.

Lovely drape and weight, not too prone to wrinkling. Brown and ‘natural linen’ coloured stripes in a fine herringbone twill weave. Petticoat is constructed of two (2) 60″ wide lengths pleated to waist of 40 inches, with linen tape waistband and ties. Features a central box pleat to front and inverted pleat to rear. The pleats measure approximately 1 inch on their fronts.

Waist will fit 38-40 inches with a little leeway either way (typical size 16 when wearing stays).

The waist has not been shaped, so this petticoat is perfect for working class living history impressions or re-enactment (where skirt supports e.g. bum pads are not worn).

Length: currently basted at approx. 39 inches with approx. 2 more inches possible (can be hemmed at the length you need, on request).

Listing is for petticoat only. Other items such as jacket, stomacher, shift may be available - please check other lists for availability.
