IN STOCK Sleeve Ruffles & Handkerchief in White Cotton

£45.00
sold out

Here we have a set of elbow ruffles perfect for a 1780s Italian Gown OR 1790s Redingcote – plus a large square handkerchief in the same soft, light cotton voile fabric.

These elbow ruffles are 10 inches (25cm) in circumference, whip gathered to a narrow linen tape ready to baste into the sleeves of your gown. The ruffles are 3 inches (7.5cm) deep.

The handkerchief is approx. 34 inches (86cm) square.

All are made from soft white cotton voile and finely hand-roll hemmed (approx. 1/8 inch or 3mm) with fine white silk thread.

At present, the ends of the elbow ruffles have been joined (into a continuous circle) but if the ends are separated, this allows for slightly more variation across several gowns, so that the ruffles can be used in sleeves with circumferences from about 9.75-10.25 inches (24.5-26cm). You may have a small gap or a small overlap – either is period correct.
